Ebrach Abbey Rose Window
May 2020
Acrylic Gouache on Watercolour Paper
56x56cm
Ebrach Abbey is a former Cistercian monastery in Ebrach in Oberfranken, Bavaria, Germany and now functions as a young offenders' institution.
The rose window is a classical example of early Gothic Cistercian architecture and is likely to have been influenced by the well-known French Notre Dame Roses in the 13th Century.
