Lux ex Tenebris
From the Latin language meaning 'Light from Darkness', this collection explores the striking contrast of historical religious buildings set within a modern urban society. Glimpses of cathedrals hiding behind high street shops. some surrounded by tourists. others guarded by modern-day security systems; all make for a stark juxtaposition highlighting how western society has changed its relationship with religion. The title of this series is deliberately ambiguous to allow the viewer to decide for themselves which aspect represents light and darkness in each piece.
